Educator+Geek: Updates Every Week

OtherStuff

This page will house the “Other Stuff” I find related to tech in the classroom (e.g. articles, blog posts).  Apologies in advance if it is not well organized.  But, enjoy!

EBook:  Zinn’s A People’s History of the United States (I love this book!)

Handbook of Emerging Technologies for Learning (downloadable pdf also available at this site)

The Three-E Strategy for Overcoming Resistance to Technological Change – from EduCause Quarterly

  1. Love your site! On your first post you said, yeah, another tech in ed site, but I find yours refreshingly simple! Just enough description to whet the appetite, then off you go!

I have two sites that are actually compilations: http://www.squidoo.com/multimediamuse has a few good interactive writing sites, and http://www.squidoo.com/interactivemathsites has some great math games that actually teach, not just entertain. I realize that your format may dictate that you just choose a single site from each, but I wouldn’t mind a shout out.

Also, I like your WordPress format a lot, but I started with blogger years back and kind of stuck with it through several reincarnations of classroom blogs, and then finally with the two blogs I presently host (http://teachingthatsticks.blogspot.com and http://teachingwithpicturebooks.blogspot.com). The reason I bring this up is that blogger works really well with Apture, a great blog plug-in that allows interactivity at the site, without requiring people to leave your page. I’m pretty sure it works with WordPress and perhaps Typepad as well; you can see a demo of it on one of my posts:

    Keep up the great work!
